Peter has been in a biking accident but is ok. He was training a few blocks from home when a DUI or distracted driver hit him. He hit the hood of the car and then slid on the gravel shoulder of the road. With no broken bones we consider him to have been lucky. The bike will need some repairs too.
UPDATE – April 23- This morning Peter went to the ER, his road rashes were cleaned and he got a tetanus shot
In order to make training more realistic we will sometimes need to ride up and camp in the mountains on two day training trips. This involves packing and carrying most of the gear we will be using on the trip. In this photo we are riding home after spending the night in the mountains near home
We just bought the tickets to a Prudhoe Bay Alaska! We’ll be leaving San Francisco on the evening of June 19th with our bikes boxed as checked baggage. We’ll arrive in Prudhoe Bay on the morning of the 20th. We’ll re-build our bikes, take a tour up through the oil fields to take a dip in the Arctic Ocean, buy last minute supplies and then start our journey, so that we can camp the night a little ways outside of Deadhorse, along the Dalton Highway
